Carly grew up in a small community in the western part of Canada.  She completed her medical school and anaesthesia residency training in Vancouver, BC, Canada at the University of British Columbia. During that period she travelled to Kampala multiple times and had the opportunity to work closely with many of the Mulago Hospital anaesthesia residents - Dr Specky Nguku included. 

After residency Carly went to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where she completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and met her now husband Craig. 

 

Since 2015 Carly & Craig have lived in Seattle: Craig works as a family doctor in a local clinic, Carly practises CT anaesthesia at PRMCE.  Carly has 2 young children and hopes to one day bring them to visit Machakos & see the good work the clinic is doing for their community in real time.
